Self Timed House

Walking to the train this morning, I realized I photograph my downtown walk regularly, but never my morning walk. This is a small subdivision of homes I usually walk through. Timer set to 10 seconds.

Demolition

A school on Western Avenue, demolition paused for the evening.

These photos were taken putting the camera on a 10-second self timer. I walked along with the camera in my hand with no idea when the image is taken.

Drawing Blinds

Home late, and time to draw the blinds. Grabbing the camera and the drawstring at the same time.

Bensenville Sunset

Photographed the ghost town of Bensenville today. Many blocks are vacant. Houses are boarded up and prepared for imminent demolition to make room for more O'Hare runways. What struck me was the empty road and playground, which on most summer nights, in most neighborhoods, should be crowded.

Green City Berries

At the Green City Market Flamin' Fury Peach stand. No peaches, but good nectarines. And the delicious berries in the foreground made it into our bag, and eventually into our bellies.

My Predictable Friday

Another Friday off, and another lunch at Hot Doug's. Foreground -
The Cinci Dog: Quarter-Pound Jumbo Hot Dog with Yellow Mustard, Cincinnati Skyline Chili and Colby Cheese and Smoked Shrimp and Pork Sausage with Caper-Roasted Garlic Butter and Smoked Gouda Cheese, with Duck Fat Fries in the background. Yes, I took a bite before I took the photo.

Late Night/ Early Morning at Midway

Arriving at Midway to pick up Babette, whose flight was delayed 3-1/2 hour due to weather.

Where the bee that stung me came from

I was stung by a bee last week after I brushed my leg against this flower. These plants in our yard grow to about five feet tall and attract bees and butterflies. It is rare not to see at least a bee feeding from these.

Sunset Commute

Two days in a row with a photo while driving. I'm noticing more and more the distortion of the lens on this camera. This is most noticeable on the back of the truck.

Train Derailment

Passing a train derailed during the morning commute. As a result, I was 45 minutes late.

Is it a living room, or a coffee shop? Yes, that's my fuzzy knee.

Crosswalk

With the camera swinging in my hand, I was aiming for the wall alongside the Sears Tower. A true accident.
